Open any folder with the Windows-E keyboard shortcut - frittsfeellen
Arsenic regular Hassle-Free PC readers eff, I love my keyboard shortcuts. And one of my favorites far and away is the Windows key plus E (Win-Efor short), which in real time opens Windows Explorer.
(Aside: Information technology always amazes me how many people don't in truth know that Explorer exists. But it's the go-to tool for finding and managing files. Finish of aside.)
By default option, tapping Win-E opens the Computer folder (formerly illustrious as My Computer), which affords quick get at to your drives.
That's fine for some, but I favour quick accession to a specific booklet, one that's buried a few levels deep and would postulate a bunch of extra clicks to reach.
Thanks to free scripting creature AutoHotkey, it's possible to remap/redirect Get ahead-E to some folder I deficiency. Just create a new script as follows:
#e::run explorer.exe {FolderPath}
Keep the brackets, and insert the exact folder locating between. So, for lesson, if I want the remapped key to open C:DataWordBlogposts, that's what I would insert between the brackets.
Needless to say, this will work exclusively when you run along the script. Then if you want Win-E to go back to its normal function, just skip or disable the script.
What do you think? Would remapping this keyboard shortcut prove W. C. Handy for you? Or terminate you grow by with its default on behavior?
